       On 29th March 2018, Viet Nam Tourism Association in collaboration with Minsitry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Ha Noi People’s Committee organized the Opening Ceremony of Viet Nam International Travel Mart – VITM Ha Noi 2018.

       Annually organized, VITM has drawn attentions of tourism governmental administrative institutions, businesses, domestic and international tourism promotion agencies, and dozens of thousands of toursts. This year, VITM is aimed at achieving the following goals:
       1- To implement a powerful and widespread stimulus program to attract more tourists to come to Viet Nam, sharply increasing domestic tourists, offering Vietnamese tourists with domestic and international tourism services and options for their proper tour programmes.
       2- To assist localities in introducing tourism resources and products so as to enhance their attractiveness, supporting tourism businesses to connect, exchange their tourism products with national and international with the aims of business cooperation, sending and receiving guests, products and incresing business trademarks.
       3- To create a technical forum for business discussions on policies, professionalism and crucial and urgent issues relating to tourism development.

       Attending the Opening Ceremony, VITM has the honour to welcome the distinguished guests: His Excellency Mr. Vũ Đức Đam – member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister, Chair of the National Steering Committee on Tourism; Mr. Hau A Lenh – Vice President and General Secretary of Viet Nam Fartherland Front Central Committee; Mrs. Dặng Thị Bích Liên – Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST); Mr. Ngô Văn Quý – Vice Chairman of Ha Noi People’s Committee; Mr. Nguyễn Văn Tuấn – Chairman of Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT); Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Thọ – President of Viet Nam Tourism Association and leaders of Departments, Institutes of MCST, leaders of Tourism Departments and Sectors of provinces and cities.

       Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said that Viet Nam have many more tourism potentials to be developed, thus, we are always looking forward to promoting tourism more strongly in collaboration with all regional and international countries and economies. It’s undoubtedly that the success of Viet Nam and fellow countries recently thanks to open policies which boost international exchange, promote strength of businesses and encourage the participation of every one.

       Mr. Vũ Thế Bình – Permanent Vice President of Viet Nam Tourism Association, President of Viet Nam Society of Travel Agencies, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of VITM Ha Noi 2018 stated that this year, VITM attracts the participation of more than 670 businesses including travel companies, hotels, hospitality services providers and tourism promotion centers from 21 countries and territories, 45 provinces and cities of Viet Nam. The VITM theme “Online tourism – Viet Nam tourism makes an advance on 4.0 Industry” expresses the strong response of tourism industry in accordance with the Government’s instruction on promptly promoting 4.0 technology applications for the purpose of economic growth. Tourism proves itself to be among the other sectors which rapidly and effectively apply the information technology in its every activity.

       VITM is an outstanding forum of tourism industry including dozens of seminars, workshops, round-table meetings, press conferences among others, which facilitates the tourism businesses and experts’ discussions, recommendations, and proposals on such related issues in tourism as policies, professionalism, and skills. Those key events are as follows: Online tourism forum, Symposium on “Conservation and Development of Traditional Vietnamese Food Culture”, and Tourism Start-Ups Forum./.
