  • Evaluating and approving the research results of the project on “Developing typical tourism products for the Ban Gioc waterfall tourist area until 2025, with a vision to 2030”

    On 26 December, a meeting to evaluate the research project on “Developing typical tourism products for the Ban Gioc waterfall tourist area until 2025, with a vision to 2030” was organized in Ha Noi.

    Madam Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong – Vice chairwoman of Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism has led the meeting.
    According to the report, among many unique natural and cultural resources of this tourist site, the most attrative destinations are Ban Gioc waterfall, Nguom Ngao cave and the culture of Tay and Nung ethnic groups. Particularly, Cao Bang Global Geopark recognized by UNESCO with the Ban Gioc waterfall is the main highlight.
    Ban Gioc waterfall tourist area should focus on developing 5 main tourism products including Eco-tourism and community – based tourism; Wellness tourism; Sports and adventure tourism; Cultural, festivals and spirituality tourism; Culinary tourism.

    The research team also presented some solutions to develop tourism products including Policy mechanisms; Investment in developing specific tourism products; Development of infrastructure and facilities; Development of human resources; Development of tourism promotion; Applied science and technology in tourism development; Tourism environment protection; Encourage and support from the community…
    According to the assessment of the experts in the evaluation board, the typical products should narrow down to 2 to 3 products. The other products on the list should be moved to the list of main products and supplement products.
    Acquiring the above comments, the research team has reviewed and edited the research report. Accordingly, 2 proposed typical tourism products now are eco-tourism at the Ban Gioc Waterfall and Nguom Ngao cave; community-based tourism with cultural experiences of Tay, Nung ethnic groups.

    The report of the research project on “Developing typical tourism products for the Ban Gioc waterfall tourist area until 2025, with a vision to 2030” is the base for Cao Bang province to develop tourism products for the Ban Gioc waterfall tourist area and contribute to the tourism development in Cao Bang province.
